Volvo S80s Interior: Recommended Highly

The Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association has just chosen their very first vehicle to meet their standards. And among all vehicles out in the market, the vehicle that they chose was the Volvo volvoS80 which is a new vehicle from Volvo Cars. After all, this new vehicle from Volvo has a Clean Zone Interior Package which is shortened as CZIP and this package actually is a new technology that gives clean in-car air as well as a pleasant driving and riding experience for all.

The project manager at Volvo Cars and also the specialist in car interior environments, Anders Lofvendahl, had something to say about the CZIP. He says, The criteria for the Asthma and Allergy Associations product recommendation specify low levels of formaldehyde, particles, various irritants, volatile hydrocarbons, and odors. This is actually a good thing, after all, asthma and allergies have become quite common problems at present. These are not just problems among children but are also problems of adults as well. With Volvo S80s CZIP, this vehicle actually offers a safe and healthy climate and environment for those people who are quite sensitive.

What is inside the Clean Zone Interior Package? This package actually includes a remotely controlled automatic cabin ventilation system. When the car door is unlocked, the CZIP stars up. It starts to effectively expel any emissions or strong odors that may have built up inside the parked car. As the substances, particles, and other components are dispelled and dispersed, the CZIP starts to decrease in power. Lofvendahl explains, In hot climates, volatile hydrocarbons evaporate from plastics and textiles. These substances can serve as irritants to over-sensitive people, so to meet the criteria of the Asthma and Allergy Association an automatic ventilation system was a necessary precondition.

Lofvendahl continues, Volvos interior air quality system consists of a filter and a sensor. The sensor registers the existence of substances such as nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, and hydrocarbons in the surrounding air and shuts the air intake if the concentration is too high. Our close cooperation with the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association has given us a far better picture of the needs of people with asthma and allergies. One example is that of dust accumulation, which is a far greater problem than we believed when we launched the project. That is why we have made the interior of the new S80 as easy to clean as possible and have avoided dust-collecting surfaces such as textile carpets. Instead, we use allergy-tested natural rubber coverings in both the passenger cabin and luggage compartment. They are easier to clean and keep free from dust.

Volvo S60 Made Even Sportier According to Automaker

The Volvo brand has come up with a mission: to further refine and sharpen the Volvo S60. Despite the fact that this vehicle is already on the sporty mode, it seems like the car brand is still not satisfied and would like to give this vehicle further enhancements.volvo

To back this up, Gerry Keaney, the senior vice president of Volvos marketing, sales, and customer service, explains, Were making the S60 even sportier in every respect. Weve both spiced up the design and fine-tuned the chassis to create a car with even greater driving appeal.

The restyled Volvo S60 will come with a front spoiler that has been crafted and made to make the vehicle look more pronounced. It would also be a protruding contour at the vehicles bottom. There would also be new sills and a new rear lower bumper. Each of these has been color coordinated with the car body itself. The S60s boot lid could also be specified with a sporty new wing spoiler. There would also be a new grille which is quite larger and more pronounced compared to the previous one. The Volvo seal and badge would also be more pronounced and has been designed to be classic yet rejuvenated.

The S60s exterior color choices have been upgraded. Now, three new colors have been added which include Electric Silver, Orinoco Blue, and Maple Red. The same number has been added to its new aluminum wheels.

The exterior is not the only thing that has been updated. The interior would also be made sportier with its metal dcor trims as well as its twin-tone leather upholstery. The cabin would be receiving new Grid Aluminum metal dcor panels which are optional. Although, these panels are actually designed so as to create a more three-dimensional impression and tactile feeling.

Volvo P1800: A Giant Leap for Volvo

The very first sports car that Volvo had produced was the Volvo P1900. It was considered to be an automobile tragedy for it did not do well. In fact, it was only able to sell a skimpy sixty eight units. Despite the downfall of Volvos first attempt at producing and manufacturing a sports car, the company still has taken a great leap so as to design and craft another sports vehicle. And this was the very reason for the Volvo P1800. This vehicle started as a project in the year 1957.

volvoThe person who was behind the project on the Volvo P1800 was Helmer Petterson. Petterson was an engineering consultant in the company and he was also responsible for the Volvo PV 444. The actual design aspect of the Volvo P1800 was crafted by Pettersons son, Pelle Petterson. The company that Pelle Petterson worked for was also the company who built the very first prototypes of the Volvo P1800. Of course, the prototypes were named differently. The first three prototypes held the designations P958 X1, P958 X2, and P958 X3.

It was during the last month of 1957 when Helmer Petterson first drove the first hand-built P1800 prototype which was the P958 X1. He then had some engineers look at the prototype and it was agreed that the manufacturing and crafting of this vehicle could start soon and the company would be able to send them off rolling to the streets come the following year. However, Volkswagen the company came into the picture and restricted the engineers and firms who would be crafting the Volvo P1800. It was for the very reason that the company was afraid that it would seriously hurt the sales of their very own line of automobiles. However, as luck would have it, the company was able to locate a good firm that would have the capacity to build Volvos second sports car.

The Volvo P1800 made its very first public debut in January of 1960 at Brussels Salon. It showed up as a very attractive sports car that held small fins on the rear fenders. This vehicle held many components shared with other Volvo vehicles like the Volvo 120 series sedan. It held shared parts like its running gear, the 1780 cc overhead valve engine with four cylinders, and most components of its suspension. The suspension of the Volvo P1800 was A-arms with coil springs found at its front and a very solid axle with coils installed at the rear.

Volvo has, in the case of the Volvo P1800, made another giant leap and delved into the unfamiliar territory of sports cars. However, it certainly was worth their effort. As part of continuing Volvos tradition and culture of making leaps and going places, Volvo Parts and Used Volvo Parts also continues to produce quality parts for Volvo vehicles. These parts have gone through strict and rigid quality control and standards so as to perfectly suit Volvo vehicles. Volvo Parts and Used Volvo Parts has a vast array of well crafted Volvo P1800 parts, accessories, brakes, steering and a lot more. Customers can choose from its online store that is available 24 hours a day to serve the most demanding needs for Volvo auto parts.

Volvo Out For New Generation Of Hometown Heroes

volvoFor the fifth year in a row, the Volvo Cars of North America is out on a hunt. They are not looking for a particular place or spot to bury a new and uniquely themed vehicle like the Volvo XC90 Pirate Themed Search. This time around, they are on the search for a hometown hero which they would be awarding as part of the companys Volvo For Life Awards.

The Volvo For Life Awards has been done for five years already, with this year counting as the fifth. It is a national public service program and what it does is it actually recognizes and honors those hometown people who have become heroes in their own ways and scopes of work. Of course, the company is not just looking for anybody. They would like to honor a person who has become a hero through his or her efforts at making moves to improve the safety and quality of life in their community. Or these new set of heroes may have been working towards a better quality of the environment. If you know one, you can nominate him or her and celebrate this persons everyday heroism.

Volvo would be selecting the overall winner. There would only be one winner, of course, and he or she would be named Americas Greatest Hometown Hero. Not only would his or her efforts be given much recognition and praise. The winner would not just be given a set of Volvo P1800 parts or accessories. The hometown hero winner would be given one new Volvo car every three years for the entire duration of his life. All these just because of his or her efforts at trying to change the environment or his or her community to make it better.

According to the company, they continually recognize these hometown heroes because they do believe that such heroic contributions that individuals could do to the environment and the community are exemplary. In fact, these heroes also are great inspirations for many other people.

Volvo Has Safety Written All Over It

Volvos are known for being extremely safe cars. They are so safe, in fact, that Volvo has started a Volvo Saved My Life Club. This club recounts the many moments in which Volvo drivers have been saved by the safety features of these amazing vehicles.

volvoThe Volvo v70 and Volvo s70 comes with standard with numerous safety features that you dont want to miss out on. These safety features may be what put you in Volvos special club.

The Volvo line of cars begins with the Safety-Cage Passenger Compartment. This feature is complete with front and rear crumple zones that are able to dissipate and distribute the collision force. This reduces the physical strain on the cars passengers. There are also roof pillars and transverse roof profiles that would prevent the car caving in should it roll. The side collision impact system also distributes the force of a collision to the side of a car.

The second feature is the Side-Impact Protection System. This reduces injuries in the event of a side impact. The cars body is designed to reduce the deformation that occurs to a car when hit form the side.

In many front-end collisions, individuals are often harmed by the steering shaft. In a Volvo s70 you will find a collapsible steering column that is designed to prevent the penetration of the steering column into the vehicles cabin.

In rear end collisions, whiplash is a common injury. These injuries are created by the catapult effect that occurs when a vehicle is rear-ended. In the event of an accident to the rear of the vehicle, the Whiplash Protection Seating System is activated. There are two phases involved with this feature. The first is a wire frame and the limited-travel spring system. These features prevent your body from being pressed deeply into the seat. The second is a system that allows the seat to actually move backwards and prevent the person from being thrown forwards. This system is designed to work at speeds of up to 20 mph, as this is when whiplash injuries occur the most.

The airbag system on a Volvo is like not other car. There are three-step airbags with a drivers and passenger side kneepads. A driver and a passenger will often need protection for their knees. Many knee injuries occur in accidents that are front-end collisions. The driver and the front passenger are often thrown forwards in these types of accidents and the knees may be jammed into the lower console.

These are just a few safety features that are found in the Volvo s70 and Volvo v70, but there are many more additional features that may be found in each car as well.
